The Tragedy at Tucson, Arizona on January 8, 2011

January 10, 2011

When a mentally crazed gunman sets out to kill a public official and in the process kills six people and wounds an additional fourteen innocent bystanders, it is obvious that something is wrong in the United States of America.

First of all, most of us wonder, how can an obviously mentally defective person obtain a weapon to go on a killing spree?  It is disturbing to think that our laws are so defective not to have provided this protection for citizens after at least three mass killings in the last couple of years have occurred, not to mention many others over the years.   Therefore, it is painfully obvious, that our state and federal laws are inadequate for the protection of the American people.  Automatic weapons have no place in the hands of American citizen, either for protection or hunting.

Secondly, our mental institutions throughout the country have been shut down for forty years, as a cost saving measure by states and their helpless or dangerous inmates left to their family's concerns or put out into the streets of our country where they are homeless, left to their own resources and a burden to their communities.  This is a tragedy, in and of itself, since every one of these people is potential loose cannon.

Thirdly, it is important to seek out the reasons for such actions by deranged persons.   In two of the last three mass killings the targets were U. S. soldiers at Fort Hood Texas by a deranged Muslim, U. S. Army Officer, bent on avenging the so called war by the U. S. against the Muslim religion.  Also, this latest mass murderer was bent on killing U. S.  Representative Garbrielle Giffords for reasons that he perceived as violations of the U. S. Constitutions for voting for the Obama Health Care many people believe was unconstitutional.

It is obvious that this information was provided to him by way of the news media from the democrat's rivals, the Republican Party and also the damnation of the health bill by Sarah Palin and the Tea Party Republicans and American health insurance companies.

For the last ten years our politicians in Washington have taken turns attacking each other's political party and principles, while the country was sinking deeper and deeper into an economic recession with rising unemployment.  The result was the recent failure of both last Presidential Administrations to find the plan and quick solution needed to fix the economic problems facing the American people.  Americans have become discouraged and discontent with both political parties and especially their representatives in congress.

This resentment and disgust was amply demonstrated in the last election in November, 2010, when the American people voted out three score of office holders who have refused to listen to the wishes and needs of the American people who need help desperately.  The American people are hurting and they are losing hope and faith in their government to help them out of a mess, not their doing.  When people lose hope they get angry and lash out at anyone in their path while self destructing.  After about four years of a very bad economic downturn with high chronic unemployment, many people have reached their wits end for the help they expect their government to provide.

After a couple of years of downturn under republican Bush, they turned to democrat Obama and his promises of hope and change only to learn, after his election that matters have turned for the worse with no real plans in the near future to really help put the unemployed back to work or to stop the real estate foreclosure to keep them in their homes.  Instead, the democrats have increased the national debt with bailouts for banks and everyone except the American people.  After only two years, they have turned their backs at the democrats and re-elected republicans, as a punishment to Obama and the democrats in control of both houses of congress for their failure to listen and help the American people.

Suddenly, the republicans are only interested in attacking and repealing the Obama health plan they know they cannot repeal and not the economy and help to put Americans back to work.  They spend a day reading the U. S. Constitution to each other while the already impatient Americans are waiting for action. They should remember the patience of Americans today is thinner than when Obama was elected President.  Without immediate relief the republicans will also be doomed to defeat in 2012 along with Obama whose days in office are numbered.

It is now clear that, our two main political parties are really running the country and controlling their party members with the help of political contributions through lobbyists, who turn the heads of our representatives to get their needs filled instead of those of the American people who just elected them.  Our government has been in the control of big business and both political parties for the last ten years and their actions have brought our country into two unending wars and an economic situation with very high unemployment, a treasury debt of fourteen trillion dollars and a yearly budget deficit of 1.2 trillion dollars adding to our debt each year.

Now, the republicans, who ran on a platform of balancing the budget and paying down the debt, are having second thoughts about it, contrary to the wishes of the American people and suggest they can only cut 40 billion dollars from the budget and nothing to reduce the horrendous national debt.  At this rate it will take 24 years, just to balance the budget let alone the national debt that is lowering the value of our dollar and causing inflation to set in with higher food and consumer prices to add to the woes of Americans.  While big business makes huge profits and their CEOs, with huge salaries and benefits.

For the last ten years, vitriolic campaigning between the two political parties has arisen as a matter of course.  The poison tongued ravings of pro-republicans talk show hosts, like Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter, and the so-called "Fox News" have incited Americans against democrats while democrats are also guilty of the same hate campaigns against republicans.  As a result, election campaigns have become hate wars between the candidates, instead of campaign comparisons of their platforms and plans for the country.    When you add hate ads and warnings of doom and gloom, by political parties and other political groups during campaigns each campaign turns out to be for the total destruction of one party or candidate against the other.  As a consequence, the hate of one party over the other spills over into the halls of congress when the winner is seated and the hate continue, on and on, forever from one election to the other.  It becomes so intense that the total destruction or defeat of one party against the other becomes the sole goal of each party rather than the needs of the American people, they were elected to resolve.  All the while, everyone seems to complain, but no one ventures a solution or a plan to help the country and its people.

This is the reason why our government is unwilling or unable to solve its problems, and never will until our elected officials learn that they are servants of the American people and no one else and it is their needs and wishes that must always be addressed first and foremost.  Until this simple lesson is learned, there will be no improvement in the economy and our country will continue to go downhill into the depths of despair and ruin, into a hole as bad as hell itself.

This country was born of a revolution against representation without representation and taxes and will return to said revolution for the same reason soon, unless our representatives keep reading and begin to follow the purposes of the first paragraph of our precious U. S. Constitution which begins with, "We the people of the United States..." and ends with, "...and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.     These plain, simple words make it clear that this is a country, "...of the people, by the people and for the people..." and not political parties or big business whom which do not vote and were never intended to control our government.  It was and is the sole intention of our Constitution that only the people and their vote control and run this country.

For the last ten years, at least, our elected representatives have abused their office as our representatives and have failed to do the bidding of the American people whose country it is.  So now, because of this failure, the American people have decided to throw out all their representatives, clean their house and replace them with representatives who will represent the needs and wishes of the American people only.

Please pray, that this revolution is limited to the voting booth and not the battle fields of the United States as we are beginning to witness these trying days.

"MY COUNTRY IS OF THEE"

"THIS IS YOUR COUNTRY!"

January 17, 2011

Who has not heard this famous refrain and who has not learned to sing it, with all their heart as it continues, "sweet land of liberty, let freedom ring?"

The very first thing you are taught in your civics' class in school, is the US Constitution, the blueprint of our founding fathers who handed it to us and future generations of Americans after more than ten years of war, death, destruction and sacrifice, by ordinary Americans with extraordinary courage to stand up and die for their God given rights of freedom from oppression.

They, the people of our thirteen colonies, handed us a country unique in its principle that all men are created equal and endowed with the principle that, "We the people of the United States in order to form a more perfect union...and secure the blessings of liberty, to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this constitution of the United Stated of America."

Of course, they also formed a republican form of government, meaning that the people elected representatives to their two seats of congress, the US House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate to represent them in the operation of our government, along with a president and vice president to form the administration part of our government.  It is interesting to note that the vice president was automatically elected to office as the person receiving the second largest vote to the office, therefore the second most popular candidate stood in line to succeed to this high office during this term, if the president died or was unable to serve.

It is obvious, especially from this provision that the founding fathers did not foresee or provide for political parties in the government since there is no mention of them in the U.S. Constitution.  At the time there were two parties in the United States, the whigs and the federalists, a throw back from the English rule.  President Washington warned at his farewell address, "beware of the power of political parties."

Once elected, the president and his administration were expected to represent all the people of the nation, just as the representatives and senators elected by the people were expected to do, also.  Therefore, the people elected their representatives to congress, the two main parts of the government while the president nominated and congress confirmed the appointment of justices to the supreme court of the United States to round out the three branches of government provided for by the constitution.

President Washington's warnings went unheeded, when in 1804 the United States ratified the 12th amendment to the constitution providing for the president and vice president to run together for the offices of president and vice president, mainly because of the fact presidents prefer to be able to choose their successors from their own party than from another party.

This system seemed to be workable and satisfactory, during good times and bad, during wars and periods of peace.  Whereas, congressional delegations usually selected presidential candidates for the office of president in the past, the advent of political party conventions and subsequent primary elections eventually dominated the election process for all the federal offices, as is the custom today.  Party politics now control all elections and favor party members since the independent candidate is shut out of the primary election process unless they belong to a political party and become eligible according to different rules set down by the fifty state's ruling elected representatives.

In addition, because of the contentious positions and differing principles of the two major parties, the democrats and republicans, the election process each time has become a battle between them and is usually decided by which can spend more money advertising to get their candidates elected.  The advent of television has added high costs as the main media of advertising along with radio and newspaper ads.  Which traditionally charge more for political ads than the commercial type?

Today special interests dominate the field of political contributions to one party or the other.  Whereas labor unions traditionally favor the Democratic Party, the Republican Party is always generally supported and funded by Wall Street and other business corporations bent on profit like, the oil and gas, drug and manufacturing interests of the country and the world.

The contributions once limited by law, are now uncontrolled based on a recent supreme court ruling by the republican controlled court.  Now, not only are they unlimited by corporations, they may be made by secret contributors and even foreigners.  The contributions are as big as they are varied.  For example it has been reported that the Wall Street interests have contributed an average of about a million dollars per member of congress last year alone, that alone totals about 500 million dollars.  When you add those contributions made by others to the congressmen and to their political parties, the amount is staggering and the question asked is simple, how cannot these huge contributions affect the vote and favorable actions of congress toward these contributors?

Now, the American people should realize why congress has not acted for the last nearly forty years against the OPEC nations and local oil companies to control fuel oil and gasoline prices while the oil companies reap huge profits?

Also, why has there not been an accelerated program to end our dependence on foreign oil to bring prices down?  Why the prices of medicine and drugs are triple what they can be obtained in every other country?  Why American companies have moved their operations overseas to countries like China causing the highest unemployment in the United States since the great depression of the 1930's?  And the largest trade deficit the country has experienced to date?

The Wall Street debacle of 2007, caused by the relaxation of federal controls by congress, led to the mortgage foreclosure problem, which is still ongoing because of its magnitude and the fact that continued unemployment feeds and expands the problem.  The resulting lowering of real estate values  keeps the construction industry who normally amounts to 25 % of our employment, from going to work since the prices of the foreclosed  properties is about 50% lower than the cost of new construction, so construction remains idle and unemployed also.

It is obvious that our representatives in congress and our past presidential administrations have sold out the American people for the huge political contributions by big businesses and labor unions.  It is clear that our political office holders are working for themselves and not the American people who elected them.  Nothing will change until the American people act at the polls to correct this grievous problem, before our country goes bankrupt from mismanagement.

The fact that sixty odd democrats were thrown out of office and replaced by republicans at the last election is like replacing one bad politician with another because the money trail and influence will continue as usual. The problem will always remain because of the power of each political party to raise money from these influencing groups for their own interests and not the need and wishes of the American people.

At this point, the fault rests with us, the American people, who have allowed this problem to expand and multiply, by voting in the members of one party or the other, year after year.

It is time for the American people to take the proper interest in the people we elect to represent us in Washington.  We cannot continue to leave it to our elected representatives who have consistently failed to represent our interests year after year.  This is a government of the people, by the people and for the people and no one else.  The only way to stop this abuse by our present representatives is to vote them out of office and to select candidates, who once elected, do our bidding and for our needs and no one else's.  This is our solemn obligation as Americans, especially at this crucial time of suffering by the American people.

If only the ignored independent voters would vote for an independent candidate we will remove the control of unions and big businesses on our representatives in Washington, along with the political parties who control most party members, at the same time.  It is time for change in this country, the change we were promised, but did not get from president Obama and the democratic congress for the last two years.

The proof will be in the actions of the republican controlled congress for the next two years.  You can expect more of the same with no real solutions to our economic problems and unemployment.  What you can expect is total war between the two political parties in the halls of congress with each bent on the total destruction of the other, when they should be doing the desperately needed business of the American people, instead.  Have you heard any real solutions to our economic problems put forth by any of our 500 representatives in congress?  We, the people need to take back our country and solve our own problems if we want our freedom to continue and our future assured.

OBAMA'S SECRET NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

January 1, 2011

After the shellacking president Obama and his democratic congress took last November at the polls, he has vowed to make corrections to his ship of state, change course and bring the needed correction to the economy and full employment for the American people.

First he has already let go, Ron Emanual, one of his campaign managers who was deliberately sabotaging his administration because Obama would not appoint him as treasury secretary because that was where the money was for the re-election campaign in 2012.   Obama rightfully deferred, because Ron looked too guilty with those shifty eyes while Geihtman looked more like the innocent egg head, needed for the job of shaking down Wall Street.  That move proved to be most successful since the bank bailout bill successfully bailed out Wall Street and now they are the only people making money with stock prices nearing an all time high and political contributions assured for the 2012 campaign.

Axel grease did a great job for Obama's election campaign and is doing the same money raising for him the White House selling ambassadorships and government jobs for the biggest contributors with his mustache covering his lips it is very difficult to read his guilty deals as he speaks.

Secretary Gates, a republican is leaving soon because Obama will not let him stop the needless spending of the pentagon because congress insists the money is needed to employ their relatives and friends they have no room for in the congressmen's offices.

He had to beg Hillary to take the job of secretary of state because she and her husband Bill are more popular than him. And he needs them to bail himself out of the messes he gets into every day.

Obama has confided in me that all the problems he has trying to fix the economy is because his wife wants to see the country suffer as she and other blacks have for the last 150 years and she wants to get even.

He was happy to pass the repeal of the, "don't ask, don't tell" law so he can come out of the closet as commander in chief.

He admitted to me that he had the health bill passed to help the blacks and Mexican illegals get legal, medical help free, for a change.

Obama's new economic plan will be just like the republicans plan when they take control of congress, eliminate the minimum wage law so everyone will work for a dollar an hour in order to compete with the labor of China  and foreign countries.  That will also solve the trade deficit and the loss of industry to foreign countries.

He and the first lady are pushing for a solution to the fact that our children are getting obese by cutting out the school lunches and food stamps for the poor so everyone will look like him, thin and anorexic.

He is genuinely worried about the unemployment problem because 90 % of the unemployed are blacks or illegal Mexicans.  The other 10 % are jailbirds collecting unemployment and income tax refunds at the same time.

He is definitely against helping people to keep their home from foreclosure because his mother and father never had a home so what's the problem living with the grandparents.

Obama's answer to the unemployment problem is to cut the work week in half so the 15 million unemployed will fill in the other 20 hours and thus full employment will return.

Obama is not worried about all those baby boomers coming of age (65) in the next twenty years.   To keep the social security system from going bankrupt, he plans to have the republican congress push back the retirement age to eighty years old, including those receiving Medicare now.  That will solve that problem for the next twenty years.

Obama expects to change the foreign policy of America by declaring war against Israel in order to solve the Muslim problem, once and for all time.  He feels that if Hitler had finished the job there wouldn't have been a Jewish homeland problem.

Obama is not concerned with the high prices of prescription drugs in this country since his health plan will cure everyone's ills and they will not need medicine in the future.

Obama and congress have done nothing to control the runway prices of gasoline, diesel and heating oil, because they have been supportive of these industries because of their huge campaign contributions.  Obama feels when the American public cannot afford to pay for these fuels they will agree to make his job and that of congress permanent for a   lifetime so there is no need for money for their re-election anymore.

Finally, Obama has decided to bring Mexico into the union as the 51st state this year.  This way the illegal immigration and border fence problems will be obviated forever.

Stay tuned for more good news this year, now that he has the republicans on board for these improvements.
